My husband and I started planning a very large renovation project on our family home in June 2022. We moved out of the house in June 2023 when the work began. This wasn’t our first renovation – in fact, in was our 5th in Israel – so we thought that were savvy and knew how to manage the work and the staff. However, due to the scope of this project – much bigger than anything we’ve done before – and the fact that war broke out on October 7, 2023, we faced challenges constantly throughout the process.
On this project, I had more professional help on payroll than I ever had before; a Mifakeach (Project Manager,) a Kablan (contractor) as well as an Adrichal (architect). I think that is a very common arrangement in Israel. For whatever reason, we were often in the situation where we were getting two or three conflicting opinions on issues from these players, and we found ourselves unsure of what to do.
And that is where Ron Spinner came in. I used Ron as a sounding board on many critical decisions, presenting to him what the three professionals on contract had each said, what our thinking was and asked him to problem solve. He was excellent at that; with very few words, he was able to focus the issue on the heart of the matter and then tell us what he would do.
From what I understand from experience and from friends, most renovation projects have hiccups, some small, some huge. Having a wise, experienced, neutral third (fourth) party to discuss things with was invaluable for us and helped us cross the finish line.

We came to Ron after we already had renovation plans in place, but we felt the design wasn’t quite right for us and wanted a second opinion. Today, we can confidently say it was one of the best decisions we made.
Ron suggested several significant changes that substantially upgraded our home and improved our quality of life.
